BE (Hons) in Mining Engineering, Ph.D in Mining Engineering, MAusIMM.

Thirty years experience as a university academic teaching and undertaking research within the mining industry. Extensive consulting experience with the mining industry in mining engineering, mine ventilation and mine evaluation economics. Particular interests in mine ventilation planning, mine fires, mine dusts and financial analysis.

He was chairman of both the 2005 Eighth International Mine Ventilation Congress and the 1988 Fourth International Mine Ventilation Congress. He is National Coordinator of the AusIMM Australian Student Mineral Venture program.
